What a Killer

Cancer is a horrible disease that enters the bodies of thousands of people every year. Some people survive it and other times cancer takes them to the grave. My grandma died from lung cancer, my grandpa died from stomach cancer, a family friend died from breast cancer and my aunt died from breast cancer. Watching someone go through cancer is the worst thing in the world. They have their good days and they have their bad days. My aunt got it, treated it, it came back, then it took her life a few months later. She never let it show that it had came pack and was spreading, she was exhausted from all the treatment that didn't seem to be helping, anyway we wouldn't have seen it coming. She was my favorite aunt, I considered her my second mom. Last April she was kind enough to take me to Orlando with her and we enjoyed it so much. A month later, a year ago today, she died. I always asked those why her?, why now?, etc. She was a kind woman and loved everyone that crossed her path. She was a bus driver, who loved her kids and that is what made her love her job. She missed out on the birth of her first grand child, and the first girl of the family, she would have loved her. I was told God lends you people to enjoy on Earth, but sooner or later he has to take them back home to where they belong. It is sad to say that most everyone has experienced the pain of cancer whether through themselves or a loved one, it is an awful disease that more and more people are getting and the treatment can't be found fast enough.

Brother, Sister Bonding

When it comes to brother, sister bonding my brother and I go to car shows. Him and I travel all over central New York just to hit them up. We go to Syracuse, Little York, Cortland, Auburn, Norwich, and any others that he finds out about. It is something my brother, dad, and I normally do together, but this weekend my dad was out of town so I had to drive him to Norwich so he was still able to go to the car show. This car show was huge, so many cars to look at and so many old men. My brother has had a passion for old cars since he was about 12 I think and his dream is to buy an old fixer upper and make it his own. We go to these car shows so he sees all the possibilities of what the cars can look like and he likes to see which ones are for sale although he doesn't have the money to buy them he wishes he did. I love that this is his passion in life, my favorite part is looking at a car, asking questions, and he knows everything about any car you ask about. One day he is going to have older cars and I am going to be such a proud sister, plus I get to drive them around looking cool and all. We might not get along all the time, and when all he does is talk about cars, it can get annoying but in the end that is something him and I share interest in. I look at the car and see its beauty, he looks at the car and sees how great the engine is, how the fenders look, and pictures the car if he were to repaint it. Car shows will always be something my brother and I love to go to together and I am I lucky that most of them are in the summertime and I will be home from college and will still be able to attend them with him.

Craziest thing happened...

I was on Facebook one day and in someone status this guy named AJ Strauf was tagged and I was like no way he has my last name. I clicked on it and he has my same hair. It is long and curly just like mine, no one in my family has this hair, but a guy I don't know with my last name does. Are we twins separated at birth? Maybe. Anyway I went to the invasion and who was sitting two rows in front of me this AJ guy, he is real. It was like seeing a celebrity. He still had my same hair, he wore glasses, and no one in my family wears glasses either. He had a beard, one thing we don't have in common, and the same hair color. This is just plain strange. I really want to meet him, I think there is something we both don't know but someone knows the back story and isn't telling us. What are the chances of this.

We all have those moments when...

Music speaks to us. We all have those days when you are sitting in your car with the radio turned up loud, a song comes on the radio and it speaks right to you. Every word in the song relates to you and it's scary how much the words describe the situation good or bad you are going through. For example my aunt passed away from breast cancer and about 2 days after this song called I'm going to love you through it came on the radio by Martina McBride (yes I am a country music fan, go ahead hate me) the song talks about how she goes through surgery and now it's forced smiles and baggy shirts to hide what the cancer took from her... She just wants to feel like a woman again...she says she doesn't think she can do this anymore... Everything my aunt went through and said. Anyway there are thousands of songs that you hear and stop and say wow sounds like me or sounds like what I am going through. I think that is why so many people listen to music to relax because in the lyrics they find they aren't alone, other people are going through the same things they are.

Why do we have smart phones but stupid people?

That's the question I ask myself all the time. Sitting at school I observe people who make stupid decisions which turns them into stupid people. We have principals that want to be friends with the kids who do bad things and cause trouble other than disciplining them. We have kids that act out because they think it makes them cool and get suspended for it. We have girls who get knocked up because they make bad decisions or maybe because if they get lucky they will be shown on shows like sixteen and pregnant or teen mom. We have kids who have parties every weekend which consist of drugs and alcohol, lots of kids even come to school high or show up once a month if your lucky. Yes all these people have the right to make their own choices but I believe they should be making better choices, choices that will help them become something bigger and better in life.

Sunshine and sun tan lines.

Two of my favorite things. Today was gorgeous and on Sundays I mow. Last Sunday I wore pants and a jacket and today I wore shorts and a tank top. It has been an every other weekend weather thing. When the sun comes out I lay out. Unfortunately I have the worst tan lines and I randomly burnt here and there...stupid mowing. I really hope this weather stays but who knows. I believe the weather people get paid good money to tell us the wrong weather. Honestly, they never seem to tell us the right forecast. Anyway I wish everyday was like today, boy I can't wait to move to a sunny state.

Favorite Things

Well I felt like writing another blog, because it's time. I want to talk about my favorite things I like to do and I like to eat. Well we all have favorite things to do guess what mine is?...mowing. You would have never guessed, because it's lame. I love mowing though, I absolutely hate the snow because shoveling is cold and hard work. As soon as the snow disappears and the sun comes out for a few months straight, out comes the lawn mower. I have a rider, which is the lazy way of mowing, but the helpful way when you have to mow acres of grass. As soon as I hop on my lawn mower and plug in my headphones I am in another world. A world where all my problems, annoying people, and everything else disappears. I ride around on my lawn mower and while getting the job done, I get to clear my head and just relax. At my mom's she has a small yard and that requires push mowing, I hate it, so I become a horrible child that doesn't help out.

My favorite food is french fries. You ask me my favorite anything and I blurt out french fries! You give me any kind from anywhere and I'm in heaven. Honestly I prefer to have them made by someone else, the frozen ones you stick in the oven, don't do justice. I don't have a favorite place to get them, but I will say they go great dipped in milkshakes or frosty's, if you haven't had it, give it a try, I guarantee you won't regret it. I could live off fries. Maybe it is potatoes, because I am a sucker for potatoes. I love every kind except sweet potatoes. I love mashed, baked, salt, yeah that's it. I am weird and I always complain when my parents make a meal with the wrong kind of potato. For example: steak and baked potatoes, ribs and salt potatoes, ham steaks and mashed potatoes it all makes sense. I am totally strange for explaining to you my potato rules, but that's me strange.
